IN HOUSE OF THE DRAGON, FIND WHO THE FATHER OF JAQUE, LUCERYS, AND JOFFREY IS! SPOILERS!
House of the Dragon is now on OCS! Continue reading to find out who Rhaenyra’s children’s father is!
Rhaenyra Targaryen has been adamant throughout House of the Dragon that she does not want to marry a man who will use her as a vessel to produce heirs. A detailed explanation of the end of Episode 6 can be found here.
Rhaenyra’s perspective began to shift as the series progressed and she became more acquainted with Westeros’ politics.
She married Ser Laenor Velaryon in episode 5, and in episode 6, we see that she has gone one step further and now has children. Read this to learn everything there is to know about Episode 7.
However, questions about the father of Rhaenyra Targaryen’s children are immediately raised, as his sons do not share her or Laenor’s silvery white hair.
Several years have passed since Rhaenyra as well as Laenor’s unhappy marriage, and they have three children.
These are the older brothers Jacaerys and Lucerys, as well as the newborn Joffrey. But who is the biological father of Rhaenyra’s children?

WHO ARE RHAENYRA’S CHILDREN’S PARENTS?
According to Episode 6 of House of the Dragon, everyone in King’s Landing knows Harwin Fort is the true father of Rhaenyra’s sons, but no one is allowed to repeat such claims.
Because Laenor is gay and the couple agreed to take lovers of their own, House of the Dragon had already established that Laenor would not be the father of Rhaenyra’s children. Read this to learn more about the Targaryen family tree.
When Rhaenyra’s three sons were born with the physical characteristics of House Strong rather than the Valyrian traits of Targaryens or Velaryons, it was clear who their father was.
Harwin is their father, as evidenced by his tearful goodbye to the three boys and Rhaenyra at the end of House of the Dragon Episode 6.
Jacaerys runs down the hall after Harwin walks away and asks Rhaenyra if Harwin is her father, but Rhaenyra only responds by saying that this is what matters that he is a Targaryen.
While House of the Dragon episode 6 confirms that Harwin is the father of Rhaenyra’s children, the specific man who fathers them has little significance in the story.
Given that it is unknown whether Rhaenyra drank the tea or not, some may wonder if Jaque’s father could be Ser Criston Cole.
The answer is that Ser Criston Cole is not Jaque’s father, and as previously stated, the father ultimately has little significance in the rest of the story. Read on for the complete Velaryon family tree.
Because Jaque is Rhaenyra’s heir, he will eventually take the name Targaryen when he ascends the Iron Throne, so his father’s name is irrelevant.
However, Lucerys and Joffrey will remain Velaryons with rights to Driftmark, so Laenor must continue to dutifully claim them.
