At the end of that week, following an incident in which he poisoned his cellmates’ food, killing one of them, Kadokura was assigned the task of keeping an eye on the dangerous prisoner.
As they continue to look for Ushiyama and Hijikata, a boy playing on the frozen lake informs Kadokura that he saw the latter just standing there.

In the present, Kirwaus is unsure what to do when he is approached by Sekiya, who offers him a poisoned fish to test his luck.
Fortunately, Kadokura ends up dropping these fish later, and they manage to get back into the lake, saving the duo’s lives.
